Life is not complicated although many people believe that it is and they are the ones who
will be quick to tell you what you should do. They are not you. How do they know what you
should do? Oh, by the way, there is no “should” in life. The following few lessons are only
guideposts. Try to remember them (as they have proven to be invaluable) as you meander
through life.
1. The only true failure is doing nothing.
2. Change is a gift. (It moves us forward, always)
3. We eventually learn to laugh at our failures (and learn from them)
4. Never suppress a kind thought.
5. Goodness brings happiness.
6. Live with gratitude—it’s a twin of goodness.
7. Bad times dissolve–always.
8. Become an appreciator.
9. Beware the piracy of indifference.
10. Listen carefully to your inner voice: it is always seeking the best for you.
11. Attention is a mighty gift–develop it.
12. Accomplishment makes us happy.
13. Thoughtful action is so much better than impulsive behaviour.
14. Live with joy. There is so much wonder and joy in this world. Seek it out.
15. The question to always ask yourself should be: Is this the right thing to do?
Most people never learn these lessons and they also fail to learn the three pillars which
will turn adversity into advantage: Positive Perspective, Reflection and (the greatest of all)
Perseverance.
The final lessons are to never stop working on yourself. And when everyone around you is
zigging, you’re better off zagging. We are surrounded by clones. Learn to stand out from
the crowd and you will find that you are head and shoulders above them.
My gift to Gabriella
