TONY H

Tony lived in the same street as us. He mainly dropped by to tell us how well he was doing at his private school. This last visit was to tell us that he had landed a job in an advertising agency. Of course this is what I was hoping to achieve one day! His title was a “Junior Account Executive” and couldn’t wait to tell us about it.

A few months sailed by and Tony was impressing everybody with his popularity and work ethic. I plodded along with my accounting study and I did my best to avoid him.

Then came the news that he has left the advertising world and bought a news agency in Russel St, Melbourne and he was making a lot of money. And of course he still dropped by my family home around dinner time to tell how well he was doing! After one visit he told me how he was tracking this girl and leaving messages for her. He also disclosed that his “girlfriend” was living in a two story unit in St Kilda. He was very amused when he saw the look on my face after he told me that he regularly climbed up a big tree on the nature strip so he regularly see her getting undressed in the unit. 

I told him he needed help but he just laughed in his superior manner.

I cut ties with him and last I ever heard was that he had a news agency in NSW. I occasionally drive through Albury but never looked at any of the agencies there!
